Creators - Founders of GEOIDE Students' Network |
Started up under the leadership of Alex Bruton and Chris Storie, the GSN was after headed by Trisalyn Nelson, acting as an interim facilitator. |
A Student Network Agreement which will define election procedures for filling leadership positions is being prepared. In addition, several action groups have been organised to work in parallel on projects such as the development of criteria for the awarding of student scholarship funds, the preparation of a welcome package for new GEOIDE students, and the creation of a brand-new GSN web page (www.geoide.ulaval.ca/gsn). |
Once its principles and structure have be determined, the GSN will undertake a number of additional initiatives, including efforts to increase the participation of women in both GEOIDE and Geomatics as a discipline, to hold student workshops and/or summer schools, and to build more and better web-based tools to assist students in their research. |
