From 2000 to 2005, the newsletters published by the GEOIDE Network were called GAIA. In Greek mythology, GAIA, was the Earth Goddess. She was born from nothingness, following the Chaos. She gave birth to a multitude of gods and she is known as "the Mother of all mothers". GAIA was a name that represented GEOIDE well due to its link to the Earth as well as the fertility of ideas that germinate from the network.
